Matt Kidd, Executive Director

Matt serves as Reaching Out's full-time Executive Director overseeing staff, volunteers and working with the organization's Board to further Reaching Out's mission to educate, inspire and connect LGBT business students.

His first involvement with Reaching Out was at the 2009 ROMBA Conference then he later became a Board Member, serving from 2011-2013.

With an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, Kidd comes to the role with a background in product development in both technology startups and theatrical production.  His experiences range from working with New York City-based start-up Tenlegs on sales and product marketing of its network for artists, to consulting for MyCityWay, a BMW-backed company, on the product launch of its Macy's Fourth of July mobile Application. Kidd has also served as a theatrical producer and communications consultant for commercial and non-profit arts organizations, and served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Boston Business Council.  Matt was an Arcus Leadership Program Fellow from 2015-2016.

Matt Cotty, Director of Development

Matt comes to Reaching Out as Director of Development with several years of professional experience within the LGBT community. He has experience in alumni relations, event planning, stewardship, fundraising, and grant reporting. Prior to Reaching Out, Matt has worked in alumni relations for a Babson College and as Director of Youth Services for a LGBT nonprofit on Long Island in New York.

Matt holds a BA in Psychology from State University of New York College at Potsdam where he currently sits on the Alumni Board of Trustees. Outside of Reaching Out Matt is involved as a member of the Fenway Health Young Leadership Council Steering Committee and is an advocate and educator in the HIV/AIDS community.  

Jordan Summers, Program Manager

Jordan Summers joins the Reaching Out MBA team after working in higher education administration for several years. Prior to her current role, she served as the Mentoring and Youth Development Coordinator at Berklee City Music, a nonprofit branch of Berklee College of Music. There, she recruited current Berklee students and alumni to teach music lessons to high school musicians across the Boston area. 

Jordan holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Business from the State University of New York College at Potsdam. She has volunteered with Boston LGBT organizations in the past and currently volunteers her time to teach math at a local elementary school. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, composing, and playing music.


Julie Miller, Events Producer

Julie’s relationship with Reaching Out began with the 2006 ROMBA Conference at the Grand Hyatt in New York City thanks to a referral to one of the student organizers by a friend at Stern.

Julie and ROMBA both relocated to San Francisco in 2007, and following the 2007 Conference, Julie became the permanent Event Producer for the annual conference and other events throughout the year.

Julie’s background is Theatrical Stage Management, Event Production Management, and Fashion Show Production. Past events and activations include clients at Comic Con, New York City Marathon, New York Fashion Week, and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

ROMBA is Julie’s longest standing client, and she is excited to celebrate 10 years with this inspiring group of people.

Amy Phan, Marketing & Communications Strategy Intern

Amy attended the 2014 ROMBA Conference in San Francisco and was amazed by all the resources and opportunities that the organization provided for perspective and current LGBT MBA students. She enjoyed her experience so much that she wanted to become more involved and is now assisting with marketing and communications strategy.

Amy is currently living the startup life in the Bay Area and has previously been in finance and non-profit education. She is passionate about communications, education, entrepreneurship, and technology. Outside of Reaching Out, Amy also volunteers with Out for Undergrad, oSTEM, Lesbians Who Tech, and Cal Queer & Asian. While in finance, she founded the San Francisco chapter of Women Investing for a Sustainable Economy and continues to help in its leadership. Amy is currently a candidate at Northwestern University, Medill for a M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy and B.A. in Media Studies, Political Economy, and Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. She is very interested in obtaining her MBA and hopes to do so within the next 5 years. Some of Amy’s favorite hobbies include good coffee, photography, tennis, video games, and reruns of Friends.

Board Members

Corey Chafin

Corey is currently an Associate at A.T. Kearney based out of their headquarters in Chicago. Prior to business school, Corey spent five years focusing on the intersection of technology and business operations at a global engineering firm in Austin. Corey served as the Sponsorship Director of the 2013 ROMBA Conference in New Orleans and hosted the Operations session at the 2012 conference in Boston. Additionally, Corey has served as a board fellow to the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance and as a faculty workshop facilitator for the Safe Schools Texas program. Corey received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2014 and his BBA from The Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University in 2007.

Anthony Esposito, Treasurer

Anthony Esposito is on the Global Development team for Starbucks Coffee Company specializing in construction.  Prior to Starbucks he directed construction projects and purchasing operations for Heller Realty and managed with The Palm Restaurant Group in NYC. He is a MBA graduate from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business, focusing on International Business and Finance. Anthony holds a BBA in Marketing from The George Washington University. Anthony was a Co-Chair on the 2011 ROMBA Organizing Committee. 

Corey Harris

Corey Harris is currently the Director of Strategy, Consumer Insights, and Business Development at The Children's Place, a children's apparel retailer.  He is also currently working with a boutique men’s apparel start-up based in NYC, Aksel Paris (  Prior to his work in the retail / apparel space, Corey was an engagement manager with Booz & Co.  His experience there ranged from customer insights / market research to operations and organizational transformation.  Corey received his MBA from Stanford GSB and was an organizer for the ROMBA Conference in 2007.  In addition to returning as a board member of Reaching OUT this year, he is also a board member of A Long Walk Home (a non-profit that uses art therapy and performing arts to end violence against girls and women).  In his free time, Corey enjoys traveling in South America, tennis (always looking for a tennis partner in New York!), and watching foreign and independent films.

Erik Hebert

Erik Hebert currently works in Hewlett-Packard’s Strategy & Corporate Development group based in Palo Alto focusing primarily on software strategy and acquisitions.  Prior to HP, Erik worked as an investment banker for boutique firm Savvian Advisors in San Francisco and Morgan Stanley in New York.  Erik helped run the 2007 Reaching Out MBA Conference in San Francisco with fellow students from Berkeley and Stanford.  Erik holds a BA in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from UC Berkeley.  In his spare time, Erik is an avid masters swimmer and enjoys the many outdoor activities available living in Northern California.

Rob Mark

Rob Mark currently works in procurement with Apple Inc. as a Business Operations Manager in California, and serves as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves in the Washington, D.C. area. Prior to this position, Rob worked for the White House, and before that served as a U.S. Army Intelligence Officer for 5 years on Active Duty. Rob earned his MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University in Houston, TX and a B.A. in History from Davidson College in NC. Rob enjoys running, snow skiing, hunting, sailing and is interested in foreign policy.

Shane Proch-Wilson, Secretary

Shane currently works at The Boston Consulting Group, based in the company's Dallas office. Before joining the Reaching OUT board of directors, he was a member of the volunteer ROMBA conference organizing committee for the 2012 ROMBA conference in Boston.  During his time with Reaching OUT, Shane has acted as liaison between ROMBA conference volunteer organizers and the Board, and participated in the organization staff search committee. Shane holds a B.S. in Natural Sciences from Emory University, and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Heather Rae Martin

Heather Rae Martin is currently a Senior Manager on the global corporate strategy team also known as the Chief Strategy Office of Mylan, Inc. She has an MBA from the Tepper School of Business and a Masters in Health Care Policy & Management from Heinz College - both part of Carnegie Mellon University. Heather was a Session Director at the 2012 ROMBA Conference and on the organizing team for the Club Leadership Summit in 2013. Born and raised in southern NJ, Heather also has a Bachelors in Chemistry from Princeton University. Prior to pursuing an MBA, she spent four years working for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in St. Louis, MO.


Kevin Smith

Kevin W. Smith owns his own business and strategy consultancy based in New York City. He and his firm provide counsel on key business and marketing challenges to financial services brands like Merrill Lynch, Charles Schwab, Guggenheim, Janus and Legg Mason. Before starting his own firm, Kevin worked for a New York-based financial marketing consultancy after spending ten years in the world of advertising, working with clients such as Coca-Cola, Intel, and Disney. Kevin holds a BA in Economics from George Washington University and an MBA from NYU-Stern School of Business. Kevin was a Co-Chair of the 2006 Reaching Out LGBT MBA Conference in New York.

Hannah Yankelevich, President

Hannah is currently an Consulant with McKinsey located in their Minneapolis office. Hannah completed her MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and was a member of the 2012 ROMBA Conference organizing committee. As the Vice-Chairman of Reaching OUT's Board, Hannah has helped establish a organizational goal to increase visibility and opportunities for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women in business graduate programs and in the greater business community. Originally from California, Hannah spent four years at Google prior to Tuck as an online marketing consultant to Retail shops helping to bridge online strategy and implementation with offline results. Hannah completed her B.A. at Smith College with a major in Economics and English.
