THE 2014 ORGANIZING TEAM

Jessica Benchetrit (Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University)

Jessica Benchetrit is an MBA candidate at the Kellogg School of Management. A 2007 graduate of the University of Florida, Jessica spent the last three years at Robinson Humphrey, an Atlanta based investment bank, as an Associate within the firm’s portfolio management group.  In this role she underwrote syndicated credit facilities to companies within the firm’s Financial Services and Technology industry vertical.  Prior to business school Jessica was actively involved in Junior Achievement of Georgia tutoring and mentoring children in underserved areas of Atlanta.  As a Miami native, Jessica loves to play tennis and spend time outdoors. 

A.J. Brown (Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University)

A.J. Brown is a first year student majoring in Management and Strategy at the Kellogg School of Management. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, A.J. attended Georgetown University, where he majored in International Political Economy. A.J. joined Deloitte Consulting’s Federal Practice following his undergraduate degree. In this role, he provided Strategy and Operations support to Federal Agencies. After almost three years with Deloitte, A.J. had the opportunity to join BDO and help start its Public Sector Consulting Practice, providing practice development, business development, and client delivery support to both public and private sector clients in the Greater Washington area.

Kenny Burns (Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California)

Kenny Burns is a Chicago native who is committed to ensuring equality for the LGBT community.  After finishing his bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Kenny began working in operations for Dole Fresh Vegetables in Monterey, CA.  Although Kenny’s professional career was accelerating, his connection to the LGBT community was limited at Dole.  Kenny chose to pursue his MBA at USC Marshall with the intention of making a positive impact in the LGBT business community.   Kenny has taken an active roll in Marshall’s Gay & Lesbian Association (GALA), and has led networking events between top firms and GALA members.  Kenny has joined the ROMBA leadership team to strengthen the national LGBT MBA presence in corporations. 

Eric Hui (Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University)

Eric Hui is an MBA candidate class of 2015 at The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to business school, he worked in management consulting in Dallas, TX and is a proud alum of the University of Texas at Austin. Eric is interested in start-ups and aims to launch his own business to offer pet parents environmentally-friendly and socially-conscious pet products. Ryan Mayes (Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California)

Ryan Mayes is a first year MBA student at the USC Marshall School of Business. Ryan came to Marshall from New York City, where he had been working in the hospitality industry. While in New York, Ryan was an active member of Broadway Impact, a marriage equality focused LGBT rights organization, where he worked on several marriage equality initiatives, one of the most memorable being the organization of cost-free transportation for 1500 individuals to attend the National Equality March in 2009.

Ruben Navarro (Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University)

Ruben started his career as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting’s organizational transformation practice in Chicago. During his 4-year tenure with Deloitte, Ruben partnered with health care and also consumer products organizations to execute workforce transition, organizational readiness, and expansion efforts. Ruben was an active leader within Deloitte’s community and served as a leader on the Northwestern Undergraduate Recruitment team, LGBT Business Resource Group, and National Life Sciences & Health Care teams. Ruben is currently in his first year at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management where he is exploring potential careers in marketing, real estate, and corporate strategy. Within the Kellogg LGBT community Ruben currently serves as a co-chair of Alumni Relations for Kellogg’s Gay & Lesbian Management Association.
