The LGBT MBA Consulting Project (LGBT MBACP) is a partnership between Reaching Out, PWC Strategy&, and students at the top business schools in the NYC, Chicago and LA-areas.

The LGBT MBACP is an approximately 8 week program in which MBA students located in Chicago, Los Angeles and NYC will be put together on a cross-school team with 6-8 LGBT MBA students in their home city and one project leader from PWC Strategy& to work on a strategic issue that a local non-profit is facing.

To be considered for the LGBT MBACP in Chicago, Los Angeles or New York students should complete the application at this link.  

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with a priority deadline of September 7th and a secondary deadline (if spots remain) of September 16th.

What's the Commitment?

The commitment is that each selected participate be prepared to commit 3-4 hours per the 8-week period to the project.  This time will be used for team meetings (virtual or in-person depending on team preferences) and project work for the client.

 

Why Participate?

  • All selected participants receive a free ROMBA Conference Registration
  • For LGBT MBA students interested in management consulting careers to get a better understanding of what it means to work on a client engagement with only a commitment of 3-4 hours a week.
  • For LGBT MBA students interested in giving back to the broader LGBT and nonprofit community, participating is a great way to do so using your newfound MBA skills
  • For LGBT MBA students interesting in expanding their networks, participating allows them to collaborate with their LGBT peers at other schools in their cities
  • Each selected participants will receive a free registration to the 2016 ROMBA Conference in Dallas, TX (Oct 6-8) where their team will have an in-person strategy session. For those who have already registered, your registration will be refunded upon selection.
  • Participation in the program will be selective and applications will be reviewed by Reaching Out staff and PWC Strategy& to ensure a mix of schools, background and interests and incorporated in each team.

Ideal applicants may include:

  • First year MBA/Grad students interested in management consulting
  • First or Second year MBA/Grad students interested in social impact careers
  • First or Second year MBA/Grad students interested in volunteering for the community
  • First or Second year MBA/Grad students interested in connecting with LGBT peers at other schools in their home city
