Out Women in Business Conference Organizers

Quinn Coen is a PhD candidate in Business at Bentley University and Fellow for the Bentley Center for Women and Business. Her research falls in the areas of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, and she aspires to bring her depth of knowledge and experience beyond academia and into industry upon graduating in 2019. Friendships, yoga, and travel are the fuel that keeps her going in her grand pursuits. 

 

Feeding her global wanderlust, prior to Bentley Quinn was working in higher education administration in Tokyo, Japan for over four years. While in Japan she served as the chair of the board of directors for the USA Girl Scouts Overseas – West Pacific and the VP of the staff advisory council at the University of Maryland, University College, Asia. She holds a M.S. in Management from University of Maryland, University College and a B.A. in International Studies from Wesley College.

Diana Helt is a Project Manager for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL and an MBA candidate at the University of Illinois. In her work, she is responsible for workflow improvements, EMR optimizations, and new clinic development within a multidisciplinary care
program for youth with complex health conditions. Prior to pivoting into healthcare, Diana spent her career in the nonprofit sector where she was involved in grant writing and fundraising. Diana serves on several nonprofit boards and also stays active by rowing.

Farrell Murphy is an MBA candidate at USC Marshall School of Business. She graduated with a BA in Anthropology and Public Policy from UNC Chapel Hill. Prior to business school she spent the last 4 years in New York City working as senior strategy consultant for IBM helping clients design and implement innovative digital strategies for their business.  She has a passion and a talent for working with people, building relationships, and bringing creativity and energy to solving problems. She is also a fanatical student of coffee and whiskey and loves watching and playing all sports but especially track and field, basketball, and football.

Originally from China, Ellen is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School. Before business school, Ellen was a founding member of the real estate department at WeWork China, where she led WeWork’s expansion analysis and underwriting in Greater China. Prior to that, Ellen served as the Manager of the Investment and Capital Markets team at Cushman & Wakefield in Shanghai and Hong Kong, evaluating investment opportunities in global markets, covering office, retail, hotel, and residential sectors. For recreation, Ellen is a passionate traveler, as well as an amateur singer who performed her solo singing concert at college. Ellen received a Master’s Degree with a specialization in Real Estate from Brandeis University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Nottingham University.

Riana Shah is an MBA student at MIT Sloan School of Management. Her background is in entrepreneurship, venture capital, and innovation strategy consulting. Riana is Co-Founder and CEO at ITSA International. She currently serves as a Venture Capital Fellow for Pear VC. Riana holds a B.A. in Sociology, Anthropology and Educational Studies from Swarthmore College.

Kendall is a management consultant with an emphasis on the human element. Her work includes Human Resources transformation and operations, as well as change management, organizational design, diversity and inclusion, and employee experience. At PricewaterhouseCoopers, Kendall advises clients on improving the performance of all aspects of HR and management of human capital so that the client’s HR organization effectively supports the business goals and strategies. An MBA and experience in talent acquisition, program management, and human resources policy from working in the US and Argentina, provide her strong business and analytical skills and advanced Spanish language. In her MBA at Rice University, she co-founded the program’s first ever Diversity and Inclusion conference, participated in the inaugural class of Reaching Out Fellows, and was named a Woman of Power by Outsmart Magazine in 2017. She lives in Houston, TX with her wife and their dog, Pepé.

Kendall Toarmina

Vicky Wu is a first year MBA student at the University of Texas who is passionate about the integration of creativity, diversity in business, and sustainability. She is looking to utilize her ability to foster strong relationships with clients and internal teams to develop impactful and innovative business strategies. Prior to business school, Vicky worked at an advertising agency where she helped clients ranging from hi-tech components to wine and bbq sauce develop strategic creative campaigns. During her time at the agency, she lead multiple agency-wide wellness events to help build agency culture as well as give back to the local community. Since attending school, Vicky has continued to drive these initiatives and is currently serving as the Diversity and Inclusion Representative, co-president of the Graduate Business Adventure Team, a member of the McCombs Ambassador Committee, eQual MBAs, Graduate Consulting Club, and Marketing Fellows.
