2020 LGBTQ MBA
Jackson Baril is an MD/MBA student at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. He earned his B.S. in chemical engineering prior to attending medical school at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. While studying medicine, he learned from physicians who create change outside of their clinical practice which inspired him to pursue an MBA. He plans to complete a residency in general surgery to become a practicing surgeon with a role in administration and educational leadership. The resilience and compassion of patients, their families, and other health care providers inspire Jackson's passion for quality health care and lifelong learning. Jackson enjoys running outdoors and is usually found listening to music or podcasts.

Lex Jakusovszky (they/ them) is currently pursuing an MBA at Willamette University's Atkinson Graduate School of Management in Portland. They grew up in the mountains of Colorado but moved to Oregon to study International Affairs and Gender Studies at Lewis & Clark College. Prior to business school, Lex spent time working in development at a nonprofit where they discovered their passion for transportation policy. Lex later transitioned to a policy role at the state legislature where they could make a larger impact in this arena. They currently serve as the Legislative Director for Oregon State Representative Karin Power. In this role, they focus on energy policy and LGBTQ+ advocacy. They hope to use their MBA to enhance collaboration between Oregon's private and public sector. In their free time, Lex enjoys long distance bike riding and exploring new Portland restaurants.

Katherine Jo is an MBA candidate at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. Originally from Seoul, South Korea and raised in Hong Kong and Singapore, Katherine graduated from Emory University with a BA in Psychology. She spent four years prior to her MBA as the Editor of China Law & Practice, a business/regulatory magazine geared towards multinational companies operating and investing in China’s complex market. Katherine rose to become the Asia Bureau Chief of the publication at ALM Media, and was elected Co-president of the Georgetown Consulting Club and VP of Professional Development at Out@MSB. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, listening to rap, and hanging out with her German Shepherd.

Lucas Yi is pursuing an MBA at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He graduated from Wuhan University with a BS and from Rochester Institute of Technology with an MS, both in Computer Engineering. Prior to Darden, Lucas designed mobile protocols, nuclear power station inspection robotics, industrial printers, enterprise legal software, and commercial intercom systems. He was also a professional actor before business school. Lucas is passionate about diversity and inclusion and serves in the Darden Student Association Diversity Committee. When he is not knocking out 500+ Darden cases, Lucas enjoys performing arts, traveling, playing sports, and spending time with friends from all over the world.

Kevin Zhou is an MBA/MSBA candidate at the University of Notre Dame. With a background in physics, he is always passionate about leveraging innovations to improve human well-being. Realizing his passion in business, Before MBA, Kevin worked across different fields, including management consulting, private equity, and financial services leading investment analysis and business strategy. He is an active promoter for diversity, cultural awareness, and inclusiveness. Born and raised in southwest China, Chongqing, Kevin is a big fan of spicy food. When he is not solving problems, he can be found staging for a musical, watching dramatic movies, hiking, or performing community service.
