Hi! I am a cis gay man and my pronouns are he/him. I am coming from a healthcare marketing analytics background and am interested in investment banking. In my spare time, I play the piano, draw, and try to learn Chinese.
What made you consider business school?
The top reason was definitely to pivot my career and change industries. I also wanted to expand my network and put myself in a more challenging environment.
What are you most excited about in terms of your time in business school?
The people. Specifically, I am looking forward to trying to solve problems with some of the smartest people in the world, cultivating new friendships, and bonding through shared experiences. All the different lenses people are going to be bringing is going to be a breath of fresh air after being in consulting for 5 years.
Who are some leaders (in the LGBT community, in business, or in society) that most inspire you?
In 2019 it's hard to pick someone to idolize. Nearly everyone has something inspiring, as well as something detestable. So to me, it's more about the deed and not the person. One particular deed stands out to me; by Stanislav Petrov, the Soviet official who refused to launch nukes when the Soviet early alarm system (incorrectly) warned him of an incoming nuclear attack from USA in 1983. If it wasn't for his analytical mind, gut instinct, and questioning of his orders, none of us would be alive today.
What's one thing everyone should know about you?
I immigrated by myself into US when I was 18 and love helping people who are thinking about or actively going through the immigration process.
