Meet Our 2019 Cohort of Fellows: Leo Qin

Cornell University, Johnson Graduate School of Management

I am a non-gaming accountant for Caesars Entertainment. I also cofounded a technology company called Drevo with my friends in China in 2016.

What made you consider business school?

I cofounded a small technology company with my friend in 2016; and at the same time, my career goal is to work as a consultant focusing on product development, operation, and digital marketing for a major consulting firm. Attending a top business school can help me obtain formal instruction of a general management foundation to manage my company in a better way and also achieve my career goal.

What are you most excited about in terms of your time in business school?

1. Build up valuable connection with other MBA students.

2. Join different kinds of student organizations to improve myself professionally and academically.

3. Travel around the world with other students for international treks.

Who are some leaders (in the LGBT community, in business, or in society) that most inspire you?

The speech of Lori Lightfoot, the new Mayor of Chicago, inspired me to contribute more to LGBTQ community.

What's one thing everyone should know about you?

I was born in Linfen, China, one of the most polluted cities in the world, where wearing a facemask is a must; when I was little, I really thought the sky's color was always grey.
